Boltons and Bad News
The second episode opened in Winterfell. It’s been a while that Roose is getting unbearable for Ramsay. When he finally stabbed him on hearing the news of Walda giving birth to their son, we all had it coming. Walda and her son’s fate was also pretty much expected. Ramsay has grown as a character everyone hates to the core. And since now he is Lord of the Winterfell, his deviance would see no bounds. That is some bad news for Sansa.
Sansa and Theon
Talking about Sansa, her journey in this season seems now to be headed towards her half-brother Jon. Brienne has told her that Arya is alive but before finding her, she needs to take back her home.Season 6 has also brought back Theon to life. His guilt and fear won’t let him continue with Sansa especially when she’s headed to Jon. His return to his home in Iron Islands gives a new direction to the Greyjoy story.
Episode two took us to the Iron Islands where tensions are rising in the Greyjoy family as Yara Yara pleads Baelon Greyjoy to end their war against North as the Northern armies have taken all Ironborn strongholds but Balon refuses. Further in the episode we see the old Greyjoy Lord thrown off a bridge by his brother Euron who has return to rule the Iron Islands. It would be interesting to how Yara plans to avenge his father’s death especially when her brother is heading back to home.
Blind Arya’s training continues in Braavos. But is she going to be blind for the rest of the story. After refusing Jaqen H’ghar’s offer, she might seem to have gained his trust but her fate still seems cloudy.
Release the Dragons
Of course our wise and witty Lord Tyrion is back in his form and this time it’s the dragon he’s going to have his way with. After knowing about Astapor and Yunkai going back to slavery, he consults with Missendei, Grey Worm and Varys he decides to release the two dragons Rhaegal and Viserion. Not only does he suggest this, but he also goes to the dungeons and unshackle the two dragons again proving his smarts to be a weapon suffice enough to make him stay long in his games
Bran is Back
Finally, after a long absence in the whole fifth season, Bran is back. We see him being trained by the three eyed raven. Bran is to have a critical role in the series against the ultimate villains. It seems season 6 will be show him a lot of origin and back stories to go on with. Beginning with the one with his own father Ned Stark, Uncle Benjen and Late aunt Lylla. What was also interesting this time was the introduction to young Hodor. It would be interesting to know how that young well-speaking boy turned to a giant half-wit.
Jaimie and the High Sparrow
King’s landing is certainly not seeing its best days. While the Mountain is making sure that anyone blabbing ill of the queen is appropriately punished things seem tough for Cersei. And High Sparrow doesn’t seem to be troubled by it at all. When Jaimie finally confronts him, he very politely threatens him by telling out how powerful they can turn out to be. Though King Tommen is eventually seem to be inclining towards his mother.
And that brings us to the most currently the most thrilling part of the Game of Thrones world, Castle Black. The mutineers are about to attack Ser Davos and other Jon’s loyalist when the wildlings charge upon them. But that was not what we were waiting for. It’s the Lord Commander’s ultimate fate that keens us. After the mutineers being captured on Edd’s orders, we see Ser Davos persuading Melisandre to try to bring Jon back. His words represented everyone yearning for the Lord Commander to come back. The viewers were at the edge of their seats to see Melisandre performing her ritual. And the final moments of the second episode gave us this.
Episode two was full of people or group exhibiting their power over others. High Sparrow over Lannisters, Ramsay over his father, Jon’s loyalists over the mutineers etc. But the events occurring, seem to take the story to an interesting point.
